**American Academy Larnaca STEM Racing Demonstrations Inspire Primary School Students Across Cyprus**
Larnaca, Cyprus – On November 21, 2025, the American Academy Larnaca conducted an interactive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) demonstration at Aradippou D’ Primary School, marking a significant step in an educational initiative aimed at inspiring young minds across the island. This initiative, in collaboration with the National Coordinator of the STEM Racing programme, formerly known as F1 in Schools, seeks to engage primary school students in the exciting fields of science and engineering.
The demonstration was designed to captivate students by illustrating key concepts in physics, engineering, and aerodynamics through hands-on activities. The event received positive feedback and was subsequently endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, highlighting its educational value and effectiveness.
Following the successful demonstration at Aradippou, the team from American Academy Larnaca expanded their outreach to four additional primary schools: Drosia, Kamares, Kathari, and Dali B’ Primary Schools. Additionally, Kiti Primary School visited the academy to participate in the same programme, further extending the initiative's reach.
During the presentations, students engaged in various activities that emphasized the importance of reaction time in engineering and motorsport, as well as its relevance in everyday life. One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity for students to race small, compressed-air-powered cars, which can achieve speeds of approximately 40 kilometers per hour. This hands-on experience not only generated excitement among the students but also demonstrated the practical applications of scientific and engineering principles.
The initiative reflects the American Academy Larnaca’s ongoing commitment to promoting STEM education. By providing meaningful educational experiences, the academy aims to cultivate curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students. The goal is to encourage a greater number of young learners to engage with STEM subjects and explore potential academic and professional pathways in engineering, technology, and innovation.
