**AUB Mediterraneo Faculty Member Elected Chair of EMS Young Academy**
The American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo) has announced the election of Dr. Georgios Charalambous as Chair of the European Mathematical Society (EMS) Young Academy. This appointment is a significant achievement not only for Dr. Charalambous but also for the university and Cyprus as a whole.
The EMS is recognized as one of the premier organizations in Europe dedicated to the promotion and advancement of mathematics. As Chair, Dr. Charalambous will play a pivotal role in guiding the Young Academy's strategic direction and activities. Dr. Charalambous, a graduate of the University of Cambridge, is also the Secretary General of the Cyprus Mathematical Society.
