**Central Bank of Cyprus Unveils Limited Edition Coins Celebrating Local Artist**
The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) has announced the release of a new series of euro coins that pay tribute to the renowned Cypriot artist George Pol Georgiou. This limited edition set features four of Georgiou’s notable paintings: "Interior of My Bungalow," "Self-Portrait," "St Spyridon," and "The Rebirth of Cyprus."
The collectible coin set is limited to just 5,000 units, reflecting the CBC's commitment to celebrating local culture and artistry. Each set will be available for purchase at a price of €25, both within Cyprus and internationally. The CBC has opened applications for interested buyers starting from Tuesday, with a deadline set for June 21.
For professional coin dealers who are looking to purchase numismatic items from the CBC for the first time, registration on the CBC’s list of authorized numismatic dealers is required. This initiative aims to streamline the purchasing process for those in the coin trading business.
Sales to the general public and coin collectors are scheduled to begin on June 22. Customers will have multiple options for purchasing the coins, including in-person transactions at CBC counters and online purchases. From June 22 to July 3, collectors can buy the coins electronically through a dedicated link provided by the CBC. After this initial period, from July 4 onwards, an order form will be available on the CBC's official website for those who wish to place orders.
