**Cinema in Concert: An Audiovisual Experience Uniting Music and Film**
Paphos, Cyprus – The Orchestra Lumiere, a renowned chamber music ensemble, is set to embark on an innovative concert series titled "Cinema in Concert," which promises to merge the captivating worlds of film music and live performance. Under the artistic direction of composer Kyriakos Kosta and pianist Marianna Georgiou, this unique musical experience will take place across various venues in Paphos and Limassol throughout September and October.
The concert series aims to highlight the emotional power of film music, showcasing familiar and cherished melodies through new arrangements. Special emphasis will be placed on compositions from the 21st century, offering audiences a fresh perspective on beloved cinematic scores. This initiative is designed to provide a rare opportunity for attendees to experience the synergy of live music and moving images in a concert setting.
The series will kick off on September 9 at the Attikon Open-Air Theatre in Paphos, organized by the Municipality of Paphos. Following the premiere, the concert will travel to several mountain communities as part of a cultural decentralization program, aimed at bringing artistic performances to a wider audience.
The subsequent performances include a concert on September 11 at the central square of Melini village, followed by events in Simou village on October 2 and Panagia village’s community council square on October 3. Each concert is scheduled to begin at 8 PM and will feature a talented ensemble of musicians, including Marianna Georgiou on piano, Kyriakos Kosta on keyboards and arrangements, Nikos Pittas on flute, Miranda Papaneokleous on cello, Nikos Ioannou on double bass, and Dona Amyrotou on percussion.
In addition to the musical performances, the concerts will be enhanced by original interactive video art created by Andreas Christoforou, specifically designed for this production. This visual component aims to elevate the overall experience, creating a complete audio-visual spectacle that immerses the audience in the world of cinema.
