**Cypriot Climbers Scale Armenian Peaks to Celebrate Ties Between Nations**
In a remarkable display of camaraderie and adventure, two groups of mountaineers from Cyprus successfully ascended some of Armenia's highest peaks, reinforcing the longstanding friendship between the two nations. The expedition, which took place recently, aimed to celebrate the close ties and cultural connections shared by Cyprus and Armenia.
Among the climbers was 13-year-old Peresvet Larin, who made history by becoming the youngest Cyprus resident to reach the southern summit of Mount Aragats, which stands at an impressive 3,879 meters. Larin was accompanied by fellow climber Andrey Kogun, marking a significant achievement for both young adventurers.
A second team of climbers attempted to reach the northern summit of Mount Aragats, which rises to 4,075 meters, just shy of the 4,090-meter peak. However, the expedition faced challenging conditions, as an unusually large amount of snow covered the mountain this year. One participant noted that reaching the summit cross was rendered impossible due to deep snowdrifts, and the peak itself was shrouded in dense fog.
Despite these obstacles, climbers Alexander Larin and Mikhail Omelchuk managed to raise the Cyprus flag at their highest point, capturing photographs and leaving behind engraved stones brought from Cyprus. These stones serve as a symbol of friendship between the two countries, embodying the spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.
