**Cyprus-based InterMaritime Strengthens German Presence Through Joint Venture**

*Limassol, Cyprus* – InterMaritime Shipmanagement, a Cyprus-based maritime company, is set to enhance its footprint in Germany and Northern Europe through a strategic joint venture with Hamburg's Carsten Rehder shipping company. The announcement was made on Tuesday, revealing that both companies will hold equal ownership of the newly established InterMaritime Shipmanagement GmbH & Co. KG.

This new entity will serve as the sole shareholder of Victoria Marine Ship Management GmbH & Co. KG, which is Carsten Rehder's technical ship management division. Victoria Marine will operate under the InterMaritime Group branding, utilizing the InterMaritime name and logo.

The joint venture, based in Hamburg, is designed to provide comprehensive technical management for approximately 20 vessels, alongside crew management for additional ships. The partnership aims to leverage Carsten Rehder's extensive local market knowledge and project development experience with InterMaritime's international resources and network. This collaboration is expected to enhance ship and crew management services, broaden the customer base, and foster further business growth in Germany and Northern Europe.

InterMaritime's expansion in Germany builds upon its existing presence in Hamburg, where it has been operating for some time. The company, headquartered in Limassol, boasts a network of offices across Europe and Asia, including locations in Germany, Greece, and Poland. The joint venture is anticipated to provide clients with access to a wider recruitment network and a larger pool of international seafarers. Additionally, the partnership will offer greater local expertise and create more career opportunities for crew members.

Carsten Rehder has a long-standing history in the German shipping industry, having been established in 1903. The company has built a reputation over its 120 years of operation, initially starting as a shipbroker in Altona. Its technical management arm, Victoria Marine, currently offers services across various vessel segments, including container, bulk, multipurpose, and tanker ships.

InterMaritime was formed in November 2024 through the merger of the ship management activities of Intership Navigation and Interorient Shipmanagement, along with the inclusion of Intership's sister company, Donnelly Tanker Management. At the time of its formation, the company announced that it would manage over 170 vessels, which include tankers, LPG carriers, bulkers, containerships, and multipurpose ships.

The new German operation will be co-led by Tim Lissow and Sven Kruse. Lissow currently serves as the managing director of Interorient Marine Services (Germany), while Kruse is the managing director of Victoria Marine Ship Management. Together, they will oversee the integration of the two businesses and guide their future development.

Both companies have assured clients, business partners, and seafarers that they will continue to receive uninterrupted services during the transition period as the operations are integrated. The joint venture marks a significant step for InterMaritime as it seeks to solidify its presence in the competitive maritime market of Northern Europe.
