**Cyprus Presidency Scholarship Scheme Expands to 110 Places**
Students in Cyprus aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies received a significant boost this week as the scholarship scheme linked to Cyprus' EU Council Presidency has expanded to offer a total of 110 scholarships. This increase comes after the inclusion of European University Cyprus and CIM Cyprus Business School in the initiative, contributing an additional 17 scholarships to the program.
The scholarships are designed to support young individuals in their educational pursuits during Cyprus' six-month term leading the European Council. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and fostering skills development among the youth.
European University Cyprus is providing 10 scholarships for English language postgraduate programs set to commence in autumn 2026. These scholarships are split into two categories: five will cover full tuition costs, while the other five will offer partial financial support. Meanwhile, CIM Cyprus Business School has announced seven scholarships, which include one fully funded master’s position and six partial scholarships.
The total number of scholarships available has now reached 110, a significant increase from the initial 93 scholarships that were announced by President Nikos Christodoulides on May 9, coinciding with Europe Day.
Several universities across Cyprus have contributed to this initiative. Neapolis University Pafos leads with the largest share, offering 40 partial scholarships. Frederick University has committed to providing 20 partial scholarships, while the University of Limassol is contributing 12 scholarships, including two fully funded places. The University of Nicosia is offering 10 partial scholarships, and the University of Cyprus has pledged six scholarships, of which two are fully funded. UCLan Cyprus is also participating with five partial scholarships.
These scholarships are available to both Cypriot and European citizens, with eligibility criteria set by each participating institution. The initiative reflects Cyprus' priorities during its EU presidency, particularly focusing on youth empowerment and the expansion of access to education.
