The Presidency pointed to the launch of the Cyprus-US Strategic Dialogue and President Nikos Christodoulides’s visit to the White House, the first by a Cypriot president in 28 years, as key milestones in upgrading bilateral ties and opening a new phase of cooperation. Since then, it said, cooperation has continued to expand across defence and security, energy, the economy, education and technology, creating new opportunities for Cyprus and strengthening the country’s position. The Presidency said the economic dimension of the relationship is gaining particular weight, along with the prospects created by attracting foreign investment. It said Christodoulides’s targeted engagements in New York, Texas and Silicon Valley aimed at attracting investment have already produced concrete results, paving the way for new investments and partnerships in Cyprus. The Presidency cited interest from leading American companies, including Amazon, NVIDIA and Plug and Play, some of which are already present in Cyprus just a year on, describing this as a vote of confidence in the prospects of the Cypriot economy and a source of new opportunities in technology, innovation and high-value investment. It said this is the path it intends to continue and strengthen, in order to create further opportunities for Cyprus and its citizens.
