**‘*Dimman ·Liman’: FANEROMENI26 to Feature Immersive Musical-Theatrical Work**
The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation (BoCCF) is set to host an innovative musical performance titled “*Dimman ·Liman” as part of its Faneromeni26 Festival program. Scheduled for June 25, 2026, this contemporary musical-theatrical project aims to explore and celebrate Cyprus’ rich intangible cultural heritage, specifically focusing on the practice of spells as documented in historical texts.
“*Dimman ·Liman” promises to deliver an immersive experience for its audience, utilizing a multimedia and audio-visual environment that seeks to connect the historical aspects of Cypriot tradition with contemporary artistic expressions. The performance will last approximately 60 minutes and is designed to redefine traditional Cypriot elements in a modern context.
The artistic ensemble behind this project is comprised of five talented young Cypriot musicians, formed through a collaboration of two distinct groups. The experimental trio known as “The Portal” includes Stelios Antoniou on percussion and analogue effects, George Holland on flute and live electronics, and Yiannis Laoutaris, who contributes synthesiser, vocals, and live electronics. Complementing this trio is the traditional ensemble “Takouria,” featuring Christos Isidorou and Kyriakos Markoullis on zurna, alongside Yiannis Laoutaris on daouli.
This unique collaboration merges sonic experimentation and improvisation with the revival of traditional musical practices. By employing instruments primarily associated with Eastern musical traditions and integrating electronic media, the performance creates a hybrid soundscape that emphasizes both the enduring nature of tradition and its ability to evolve.
The event will take place at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, located at 86-90 Faneromenis Street, 1011 Nicosia. Doors will open at 8:00 PM, with the performance commencing at 8:30 PM. Admission is free, allowing the public to engage with this artistic exploration without any cost barriers.
As part of the event, photography and videography will occur, with images and footage of attendees potentially used for promotional purposes or shared with the media. By attending, guests grant the organizers permission to utilize these visuals.
