This transaction took place over a five-day period from August 24 to August 28, 2023, as part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to enhance shareholder value.

The shares were acquired at an average price of €4.5820 each, according to the bank's latest announcement. The buyback was executed through Eurobank Equities, the bank's brokerage arm, which facilitated the transactions in alignment with the approved share buyback program.

The share repurchase activity was broken down as follows:

The share buyback program was initially approved by shareholders during the bank's annual general meeting on April 28, 2026, with a subsequent board decision made on April 29. The program officially commenced on June 10, 2023.

Share buyback programs are often viewed as a method for companies to return capital to shareholders, potentially increasing the value of remaining shares by reducing the overall number of shares outstanding. Eurobank's latest move is indicative of its commitment to maintaining shareholder confidence and managing its capital effectively.

The banking sector, particularly in Europe, has seen various institutions engaging in share buybacks as part of broader strategies to enhance financial stability and shareholder returns. Eurobank's actions align with this trend, reflecting a proactive approach to capital management in a competitive market.

As Eurobank continues to navigate the evolving economic landscape, the implications of this buyback program will be closely monitored by investors and analysts alike, particularly in terms of its impact on the bank’s stock performance and overall financial health.
