According to the latest information, the 46-year-old woman, who remains intubated in extremely critical condition, is the officer’s second wife. The 55-year-old officer is a father of four children, two from his first marriage and two with the victim. One of the two is an adult, while the second is a 16-year-old girl. According to the latest information, the officer’s wife left home shortly after he did, following the same route she takes every day to work, suggesting the officer knew where his wife would be travelling and when. The officer had started his shift at around 6.07am, when he was issued his service weapon, which, according to evidence gathered so far, appears to have been used in the incident. He then told colleagues he was leaving for a few minutes before departing in his vehicle. The incident took place shortly before 6.50am on Ilision Street, outside a school in Zakaki, where he shot the woman four times while she was inside a car in the middle of the road. According to philenews information, the man also threatened a passer-by who stopped at the scene to help. Police and CID Limassol investigators were dispatched to the scene and are carrying out on-site examinations and collecting evidence. Limassol Police Director Stelios Aristidou said everything remained under investigation, and that there was currently no information on the exact circumstances. Asked whether there had been any previous complaints or reports against the officer, or whether he had shown unusual behaviour, Aristidou said no such history had emerged, as there were no complaints against him. The investigation remains in full swing.
