**Foreign Policy Expert Analyzes India's Response to Mecca Pact**
In the wake of the recently signed Mecca pact between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan, India faces significant challenges in formulating an effective response. Robinder Nath Sachdev, an international relations expert and president of the Imagindia Institute, discussed the implications of this treaty in an interview with RT India.
The Mecca pact, which unites three prominent Sunni Muslim nations, has been described by Sachdev as creating a “worrisome reality” for India. The expert highlighted the importance of “de-hyphenating” India’s economic relationship with Saudi Arabia from the security dynamics that Riyadh has developed with Islamabad. This approach, he argued, is crucial for India to effectively manage its interests in the region.
In response to the evolving situation, the Indian Foreign Ministry has stated that it is closely monitoring developments related to the Mecca pact. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal affirmed India’s commitment to safeguarding its national interests and indicated that the country would take all necessary measures to address any potential threats arising from the new treaty.
