**Freedom Holding Reports 40% Revenue Growth in First Quarter**
Freedom Holding Corp, the parent company of Freedom24, has announced a significant 40% year-on-year increase in net revenue for the first quarter of its 2027 financial year. The Nasdaq-listed company reported total net revenue of $732.5 million for the three months ending June 30, 2026, a notable rise from $524 million in the same period the previous year.
Despite this impressive revenue growth, the company experienced a decline in net income, which fell to $31.7 million, or $0.52 per diluted share, compared to $37.4 million, or $0.61 per diluted share, in the prior year’s quarter. This disparity between revenue and net income highlights the complexities of the company’s financial performance during this period.
Total assets for Freedom Holding increased to $14 billion, up from $13.2 billion at the end of March 2026. The company’s customer base across its various services, including banking, brokerage, insurance, and other financial offerings, expanded to 8.743 million, reflecting the company’s ongoing growth strategy.
Timur Turlov, founder and CEO of Freedom Holding Corp, commented on the results, stating, “Our results this quarter reflect the continued strength and momentum of our business across the Freedom ecosystem.” He emphasized the meaningful growth in both revenue and customer base, which he attributed to the resilience of the company’s diversified business model as it continues to explore new markets and services.
The brokerage segment was a key contributor to the quarterly performance, with revenue soaring by 60% to $282.6 million. This growth was driven by increased fee and commission income, alongside a rise in interest income. The number of retail brokerage customers also saw an uptick, reaching 874,000, compared to 858,000 at the end of March.
In addition to brokerage, the banking operations also demonstrated strong performance, with revenue climbing 54% to $225.2 million. This growth was primarily fueled by foreign exchange operations, gains on trading securities, and higher unrealized gains from the fair value of securities, as well as increased interest income. The banking customer base grew to 5.4 million, up from 5 million in the previous quarter.
Freedom Holding’s broader digital fintech strategy has been crucial to its expansion efforts. Turlov noted the importance of the Freedom SuperApp, which integrates financial and lifestyle services into a single platform, enhancing customer experience. He remarked, “As customers can move between products effortlessly, and our platform anticipates their needs through data and AI, we build deeper relationships and deliver more value with greater efficiency.”
During the quarter, Freedom Holding also made strides in expanding its digital ecosystem. On June 1, 2026, the company acquired ChessBase GmbH, a platform specializing in chess software and analytics. This acquisition marks a strategic move to diversify its business beyond core financial services.
Additionally, the company received a ratings upgrade from S&P Global Ratings in June. The long-term issuer credit ratings for Freedom Finance JSC, Freedom Finance Europe Ltd., Freedom Finance Global PLC, and Freedom Bank Kazakhstan JSC were raised from B+ to BB-, reflecting the group’s progress in enhancing its financial discipline, risk management, and compliance framework.
The latest financial results underscore Freedom Holding’s ongoing expansion across various sectors, including banking, brokerage, insurance, and digital services. The increase in customer numbers and revenue indicates a robust growth trajectory, although the decline in net income suggests challenges that the company may need to address moving forward.
In summary, Freedom Holding Corp's first-quarter results for the 2027 financial year reveal a strong revenue growth of 40%, driven by significant contributions from its brokerage and banking operations. However, the decline in net income raises questions about the sustainability of profitability amidst rapid expansion. The company’s strategic initiatives, including the acquisition of ChessBase and advancements in its digital platform, position it for continued growth in the evolving financial landscape.
