The event opens with a ceremony on Friday, 2 October, followed by the main convention days on 3 and 4 October, at the Cyprus State Fair in Nicosia, according to the announcement. Russell has built a screen career spanning more than four decades, organisers said. In Game of Thrones, he played the veteran warrior and commander of House Tully. In the second season of One Piece, he plays Crocus, the former doctor and lighthouse keeper at Twin Cape who cares for the Island Whale Laboon. His other credits, per the announcement, include Chief Inspector Frederick Abberline in Ripper Street, Lord Lovat in Outlander, and Tyr in Marvel Studios’ Thor: The Dark World, among numerous other film and television roles. These include voice actors Maxence Cazorla, Rich Keeble and Kirsty Rider, who featured in the 2025 Game of the Year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as well as internationally known cosplayers Leon Chiro and Taryn. Comic-book guests announced so far include Chris Thompson, editor of Heavy Metal and an Eisner Award-winning creator, an accolade organisers described as among the industry’s most prestigious. Italian saxophonist Gax Win has also been confirmed to attend. Organisers said the line-up remains incomplete, with further announcements, including “a few surprises,” expected in the coming days. During the convention, fans will be able to attend a Q&A panel with Russell and take part in meet-and-greet, signing and photography sessions, organisers said. These sessions will require separate Guest Tokens, distinct from general admission tickets, with pricing and scheduling details to be announced. About the event Now an annual fixture, Cyprus Comic Con brings together fans, creators, performers and entertainment professionals across comics, film, television, gaming, cosplay, animation, music and wider pop culture. Past editions have hosted international guests including Anthony Daniels (C-3PO in Star Wars), Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (“The Mountain” in Game of Thrones), Julian Glover, Tom Wlaschiha, Stefan Kapičić, Clinton Liberty, Miltos Yerolemou and Star Wars sculptor Brian Muir. This year’s programme is set to include autograph sessions and panels, cosplay competitions and the Mediterranean Cosplay Championship, Artists’ Alley, gaming tournaments, live wrestling, live music and DJ sets, film screenings as part of the Cyprus Comic Con Film Festival, a Medieval Quarter with stage combat, family and STEM activities, and the NomNomNomiCon food festival.
