It is the eighth Commonwealth Games medal of the veteran Cypriot gymnast’s career, confirming once again his standing among the sport’s elite. He previously won two golds and five bronzes. Cyprus’s medal tally began with Iosif Kesidis’s silver in the hammer throw, followed by a further medal on Monday evening. Today, the baton passed to gymnastics, with Neofytos Kyriakou winning bronze in the vault and Marios Georgiou continuing the Cypriot team’s strong showing with silver in the parallel bars.
