The average global sea surface temperature has reached an unprecedented level, according to a recent report from the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service. The temperature peaked at 21.1 degrees Celsius (69.98 degrees Fahrenheit) over the weekend, surpassing the previous record of 21.09 degrees Celsius (69.96 degrees Fahrenheit) set in March 2024.
