The man was not injured in the shooting, though his car sustained damage. Reports suggest the man is the brother of a prisoner serving a life sentence at Central Prisons, and police have not ruled out the possibility that the attack was intended as a message to him. Shortly after the shooting, a car was found burning in an open area in Avgorou. Police are examining whether it is the vehicle used by the attackers.
