**Israeli Forces Kill Three-Year-Old Palestinian Boy on Family Farm in Gaza**
*Deir el-Balah, Gaza Strip – June 15, 2026* — A tragic incident unfolded in the Wadi al-Salqa area of Deir el-Balah, Gaza, where Israeli forces shot and killed a three-year-old Palestinian boy, Rayan Bahaa Abu Al-Ajeen, as he was being carried by his father. The family reported that the shooting occurred on Sunday afternoon while they were en route to their greenhouses, located outside the so-called ‘Yellow Line’, an area not under direct Israeli military control.
According to family members, Rayan was shot in the head, with the bullet entering through one side and exiting through the other. His father, Bahaa Abu Al-Ajeen, was also injured in the incident, suffering a gunshot wound to the leg. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
Jaber Abu Al-Ajeen, Rayan’s grandfather, described the harrowing moment he learned of the tragedy. He was at home near the family farm when he heard gunfire. Upon investigating, he discovered that his son Bahaa and another relative had been targeted. “My grandson, Rayan, was killed by a gunshot to the head; the bullet entered his head and exited through his eye,” Jaber told Al Jazeera. He expressed profound grief over the loss, stating that Rayan’s mother is devastated by the incident.
The family’s ordeal did not end with the shooting. Jaber recounted that Bahaa was left bleeding for seven hours before being transported to the hospital for medical care. “We are still deeply worried about Bahaa’s condition, as he is not yet stable after bleeding for hours, and the condition of his leg is very serious,” he added.
As of now, the Israeli military has not issued any comments regarding the incident. The shooting of Rayan Abu Al-Ajeen adds to the ongoing violence in Gaza, where Israeli forces have continued operations since a ceasefire was established in October 2023. Reports indicate that nearly 1,000 Palestinians have been killed since that ceasefire, with over 73,000 fatalities recorded since the onset of hostilities in October 2023.
The ‘Yellow Line’ has been a contentious boundary, with many civilians living in close proximity expressing concern for their safety. Jaber Abu Al-Ajeen noted the family’s longstanding awareness of the risks associated with their location. “We have lived in this area for a long time,” he said. “We are mere civilians working in agriculture, and all our lands are located outside of the ‘Yellow Line’.”
The incident has drawn attention to the ongoing violence and the impact it has on families in the region. As the situation continues to evolve, the community remains on edge, grappling with the loss of young lives and the implications of military actions in civilian areas.
