The video shows water entering the ship during the trip, with passengers audible expressing concern about the situation. At one point, a passenger is heard saying: “It’s taking on a lot of water, the water’s coming in from below.” A crew member replies: “It’ll be fine, sir, you go to the front, don’t get wet,” adding that more water was on the way. The footage resurfaced after the August 30 tragedy, when the ship overturned during its voyage from Kyrenia to Taşucu following water ingress. A total of 267 people were on board; eight died, and search and rescue operations are continuing for 20 people still missing. As part of the investigation into the cause of the disaster, authorities are examining the ship’s previous voyages, its technical condition, and the safety practices in place at the time.
