**Keve Invites Cyprus Businesses to Help Shape Future Safety Regulations**
The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) has called upon small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Cyprus to engage in a European Commission survey focused on occupational safety and health, as well as the protection of workers’ rights within subcontracting chains. This initiative is part of a broader effort under the Enterprise Europe Network and is intended to lay the groundwork for the forthcoming Quality Jobs Act, which aims to modernize employment standards in line with the evolving needs of the economy.
Keve emphasized the importance of gathering data and insights from businesses regarding existing policies and practices related to occupational health and safety. The survey seeks to understand the real-world experiences of companies, particularly how they navigate the complexities of subcontracting and the associated rights of workers. By participating, businesses can share their views on the benefits and costs of implementing safety and health policies, which will be crucial for shaping future European directives in the realm of employment and job quality.
The chamber highlighted that the findings from this survey will play a significant role in informing future European policies, making the participation of SMEs vital. Keve encourages all eligible businesses to contribute their perspectives, ensuring that upcoming regulations are tailored to meet the specific needs and challenges faced by SMEs across Europe.
The survey is accessible online, and interested parties are urged to complete the questionnaire by the deadline of July 27, 2026. Notably, participants will not need to create or utilize an EU Login account to take part, simplifying the process for businesses looking to contribute.
By inviting SMEs to participate, Keve aims to foster a collaborative approach to developing policies that enhance occupational safety and health standards while protecting workers’ rights. This initiative reflects a commitment to creating a safer and more equitable work environment in Cyprus and across the European Union.
