The woman, named in initial reports as the officer’s wife, was taken to hospital where doctors found vital signs and intubated her. She remains in extremely critical condition, according to initial information. CID Limassol said it was at the scene and investigating the incident, and that the Limassol Police Director would make statements at the scene later in the day. The scene has been cordoned off and examinations are under way, police said. According to initial reports, the officer allegedly drew his service pistol and shot his wife before turning the weapon on himself. Initial information had suggested the woman had died, though this was later revised as she was found to have vital signs and was transferred to hospital. The incident occurred shortly before 6:50am on Ilision Street in Zakaki, under circumstances that remain under investigation. Police officers and CID Limassol investigators were dispatched to the scene, where they are carrying out on-site examinations and collecting evidence to establish the facts of the case.
