"In total, 28 million metric tons of export cargoes were sent through the Russian Railways network to commercial seaports in May. This is 7.4% more than in the same period in 2025," the company informed. Specifically, 10.9 million metric tons were transported to the Far East, which is 15.4% more than in 2025. Shipments to the northwest stood at 9 million metric tons (-18.5%), and 8.1 million metric tons (+45.4%) to the south. The positive dynamics was provided by the transportation of coal (15.4 million metric tons, +18.4%), iron ore (1.1 million metric tons, +40.6%), ferrous metals (1.1 million metric tons, +8.1%), and grain (1.1 million metric tons, an increase of 2.6 times). "During five months of 2026, 135.3 million metric tons were sent towards marine terminals (+3.5% compared to January - May 2025)," Russian Railways said.
