According to information obtained by philenews, the man is intubated in the intensive care unit at Nicosia General Hospital and remains in critical condition. He suffered an amputation to one hand and injuries to both legs. Authorities are continuing their investigation to establish exactly what happened at the house on Friday night. Sources said investigators recovered important evidence from the scene. Police are keeping all possibilities open at this stage, including whether the explosion was linked to an attempted murder or whether the device belonged to the injured man. Bomb disposal experts determined that a homemade metal explosive device had detonated. Police are continuing to take statements and collect CCTV footage. Famagusta CID is investigating the case.
