National Highways announced that severe damage to bridge structures, boundary fences, and tarmac means the A31 highway will remain completely closed. A separate major incident was declared just three miles from the Sizewell B nuclear plant. Over 90 firefighters managed to protect local vacation parks and cottages, successfully evacuating all citizens. Fire chiefs explicitly confirmed the nuclear site remains safely outside the active zone. In addition, major incidents have been officially stepped down or brought under operational control in Warwickshire and Pershore. The National Fire Chiefs Council reported that England and Wales have logged 1,017 severe wildfires so far this year, officially mirroring the entire record-breaking total of last year.
