Police conducted extensive nationwide operations mostly across city centres, as part of its campaign to combat serious crime and raise security levels in the country. Five people were arrested for drug possession, traffic offences and living in the Republic without a residence permit. Drivers in almost 700 vehicles were flagged down, with more than 300 reported, out of which 90 were caught speeding, 37 were over the allowed alcohol limit and five tested positive in a narcotest. 26 cars were confiscated for a number of violations.
