**Nine Christmas Villages to Brighten Cyprus This Festive Season**
The festive spirit is set to illuminate Cyprus as the deputy ministry of tourism has announced the operation of nine Christmas villages across the island this holiday season. Running from November 21 to January 6, 2027, these villages will be located in Agros, Deryneia, Kakopetria, Kalopanayiotis, Kyperounta, Lefkara, Lofou, Statos-Ayios Fotios, and Fikardou.
The selection of these locations was made following a thorough review of applications submitted by community and municipal councils participating in the Heartland of Legends route grant scheme. This initiative, which has been in place for five years, aims to enhance the local character of the communities involved, providing a unique festive experience that highlights the cultural richness of Cyprus.
Each Christmas village will be adorned with festive decorations and will feature wooden stalls selling a variety of local products and crafts. Visitors can look forward to engaging workshops focused on crafts, wine, and gastronomy, showcasing the island's rich culinary heritage. In addition to the festive market atmosphere, the villages will offer a range of nature activities, including walking and cycling opportunities, guided tours of the villages, and other seasonal events designed to engage visitors of all ages.
The deputy ministry has expressed its commitment to expanding and enriching the Christmas village experience each year, aiming to attract both local residents and international visitors. This initiative not only aims to promote tourism but also seeks to foster a sense of community and celebration among the participating villages.
For those interested in planning a visit, further details regarding the program and specific activities will be made available on the dedicated Christmas Villages website. As the festive season approaches, the anticipation for these vibrant celebrations continues to grow, promising a memorable experience for all who attend.
