The man is being treated in the intensive care unit of Nicosia General Hospital. Police were alerted shortly before 7 am by Famagusta General Hospital that an injured person had been taken there. The 53-year-old was found on Eleftherias Street in Ayia Napa and taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital, where tests showed he had suffered a skull fracture and brain haemorrhage. He was transferred to Nicosia General Hospital because of the seriousness of his condition and underwent surgery. Further examinations at the scene found that his injuries were caused by a fall to the ground, with police treating the case as an accident. Ayia Napa Police Station is continuing its investigation.
