According to an announcement from the District Local Government Organisation of Nicosia, the incident occurred on a plot on Pentadaktylou street, where the perimeter wall of the neighbouring apartment building collapsed. DLGO Nicosia engineers were at the scene from the first moment and are in contact with engineers from both the building under construction and the affected apartment building. DLGO Nicosia said it is currently investigating whether all required safety measures were followed during the excavation. It added that an investigation will also be carried out into the structural adequacy of the affected apartment building.
