Romania's state-owned nuclear power producer, Nuclearelectrica, has announced the possibility of shutting down its last operational reactor at the Cernavoda nuclear power plant by August 13 due to critically low water levels in the Danube River. The Danube, which is Europe's second-longest river, has reached record-low levels, with measurements indicating a flow of just 1,370 cubic meters per second at its entry point into Romania.
