**Teen Arrested After Collision with Police Motorcycle in Limassol**
A 19-year-old male has been taken into custody in Limassol following an incident involving a police motorcycle on Thursday afternoon. According to police reports, the teenager was driving a pickup truck that was not fitted with registration plates when officers attempted to signal him to pull over.
The confrontation began when police noticed the unregistered vehicle and signaled for the driver to stop. The driver complied momentarily but then reversed into the police motorcycle, which was positioned behind him. This collision caused the officer riding the motorcycle to be unseated, resulting in what authorities described as a "minor injury."
In response to the incident, the officer drew his weapon and fired at the pickup truck, hitting one of its tyres three times. Despite the officer's actions, the teenager managed to flee the scene.
After the collision, the injured officer sought medical attention at the Limassol general hospital, where he received first aid before being discharged.
The police launched an investigation to locate the driver, which led them to the teenager's residence late on Friday evening. At approximately 11:15 PM, officers discovered the pickup truck parked outside his house. Upon noticing the police presence, the 19-year-old attempted to escape but was apprehended.
The teenager is expected to face charges in court later today, and the police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
