**Teen Hospitalised After E-Scooter Crash in Limassol**
A 14-year-old boy was hospitalised early Friday morning following a serious accident involving an e-scooter in Trachoni, Limassol. The incident occurred shortly after midnight when the boy collided with the rear of a parked car, resulting in an epidural haematoma, a type of brain injury.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, where the boy was initially taken to Limassol General Hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later transferred to Nicosia General Hospital for further evaluation. Medical tests confirmed the presence of the epidural haematoma, leading to his subsequent admission to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia, where he is currently receiving treatment in the children’s intensive care unit. As of now, his condition has been described as stable.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation by local authorities. Eyewitness accounts and additional details regarding the events leading up to the crash have not yet been disclosed.
This incident raises concerns about the safety of e-scooter use among young riders, particularly in urban areas where traffic and parked vehicles pose significant risks. E-scooters have gained popularity in recent years, but incidents like this highlight the need for increased awareness and safety measures for riders, especially minors.
As investigations continue, the community is urged to remain cautious and vigilant regarding road safety, particularly with the growing presence of e-scooters in public spaces.
