**The 44th Lefkara Festival Kicks Off Tomorrow**
The picturesque village of Lefkara is set to host its 44th annual Lefkara Festival, commencing tomorrow, August 7, and running through August 22. This three-week celebration promises an engaging mix of cultural events, live music, artisan showcases, and culinary delights, making it a highlight of the summer season in Cyprus.
The Lefkara Municipality has curated an exciting agenda, inviting local artisans, craftspeople, tourists, and residents to come together and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. The festival will transform the quaint cobblestone streets and alleys of Lefkara into a hub of activity, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The festival will officially open with an embroidery and silversmith exhibition at 7:30 PM, which will precede a tribute concert dedicated to the late Greek singer Marinella. The concert will feature performances by renowned artists Elena Giannakou, Liza Theofanous, and Christodoula Tsangara, accompanied by a six-piece orchestra, bringing to life some of Marinella's most beloved songs.
The following evening, the musical festivities continue with a concert featuring popular singers Thanos Petrelis and Eleftheria Eleftheriou. This event will require a ticket for entry, with prices set at €20 for general admission, offering table and couch seating options, and €25 for arena seating, which includes one drink.
On Sunday, August 9, the festival will host a Lefkara music night dedicated to the celebrated composer Manos Loizos. This event will feature local choirs from Lefkara and Kornos, along with a dance ensemble from Pano Lefkara, celebrating the rich musical traditions of the area.

The laughter will continue on August 11 with a theatrical performance of "I Marikkou I Raftena," promising comedic entertainment for all.
On August 12, the festival will host a bridge pairs competition at 2:30 PM, followed by a special performance featuring music, narration, and screenings honoring the silversmiths of Lefkara, presented by Demetris Mesimeris and Frederiki Tombazou.
The festival will take a lively turn on August 13, as DJ Louis will spin tunes from the 80s, 90s, and 00s, inviting attendees to dance and celebrate the nostalgic vibes. The music will continue on August 14 with a concert by Giorgos Stamataris and Stavriana Koutra, adding to the festive atmosphere.
On the evening of August 16, the charming alleys of Lefkara will come alive with song and dance, culminating in the much-anticipated Lefkara Street Food Festival. This event will feature a variety of culinary offerings, accompanied by a live performance from the Greek band Alcatrash, ensuring a feast for both the palate and the ears.
The festival will draw to a close on August 22 with a grand finale, featuring performances by the ensemble Asikides, who will present songs from Greece and Cyprus, alongside traditional dances from the Pano Lefkara group.
