The hands-on workshop Nature, sun and cyanotype in the village offers a creative journey through the Cypriot countryside, presented as part of the Cultural Decentralisation Programme 2026. Artist Eleni Philippou (The.Curious.Curly) introduces participants to cyanotype, one of the oldest camera-less photographic techniques, developed in 1842, which uses sunlight to create its distinctive blue prints. Thkyo Stales sto Choman (Two Drops in the Soil) is a musical journey linking Cyprus’s traditional music with contemporary work, presented as part of the Cultural Decentralisation Programme 2026. The concert takes as its starting point Thkyo Stales, the recent record by Stelios Papamichael and Stefanos Ioannou, built on Cypriot verse and the local musical idiom. The programme also features material from Symeon Merkouris’s forthcoming record, which includes arrangements and original compositions drawn from primary recordings of traditional Cypriot tunes. Michalis and Petros Kouloumis present a music and dance performance devoted to Cypriot musical tradition, part of the Deputy Ministry of Culture’s Cultural Decentralisation Programme 2026. The performers are Michalis Kouloumis (violin), Petros Kouloumis (voice, lute) and Eleni Koki (santouri), joined by the Dionysos Cultural and Dance Group and the Ieroi Kipoi Cultural Group, who accompany the music with dance from the Cypriot tradition. The 27th Summer Screenings Marathon runs every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until September 13. Tonight and on September 12, the programme is It Was Just an Accident, 105 minutes, directed by Jafar Panahi. A seemingly simple, quiet family drive through the Iranian countryside is suddenly overturned. The film follows a group of former Iranian political prisoners who, after an unexpected incident, face an enormous moral dilemma: whether to take revenge on a passer-by they recognise and believe was their old torturer in prison.
