MUSIC Aglantzia, Academy Park, 7pm. The 15th SEPTEMBERFEST beer festival kicks off with concerts and acts spanning every musical taste: entehno, laiko, rock, pop and reggae. Today’s programme opens with Giorgos Sabanis. Locomondo and Ble perform on 2/9, Angelos, Stelios and Diamantis Dionysiou present a tribute to Stratos Dionysiou on 3/9, Stelios Rokkos and Elena Panagiotidou take the stage on 4/9, followed by Eleonora Zouganeli on 5/9, Petros Iakovidis on 6/9, and the festival closes on 7/9 with Christos Mastoras and the band Melisses. Organised by the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation and the Pierides Museum, part of the Bank of Cyprus Group, the exhibition brings together works from different periods of Iakovou’s creative career, highlighting the varied and multifaceted expressions of her artistic practice. Ceramic compositions, paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations and mixed-media works, rendered in her distinctive visual language full of sensitivity and strength, offer insight into the artist’s reflections and preoccupations, which place the female form at their centre.
