**Thunderstorms Forecast for Nicosia and Troodos This Weekend**
Cyprus is bracing for a shift in weather conditions this Saturday, with the Meteorological Office predicting isolated thunderstorms and the potential for hail across various regions, including Nicosia, Troodos, and parts of Larnaca. This change comes after a predominantly clear start to the day.
According to the Met Office, the morning will begin with some cloud cover, which is expected to dissipate quickly, giving way to clearer skies. However, as the day progresses, cloud formation is anticipated over inland areas and higher elevations, particularly in the Troodos mountains. By the afternoon, the likelihood of isolated showers and thunderstorms increases, especially in Nicosia and Troodos, with hail being a possible occurrence in areas experiencing thunderstorms.
Temperature forecasts indicate a warm day ahead, with Nicosia expected to reach highs of 34°C. Other coastal cities like Limassol, Larnaca, and Kyrenia are predicted to see temperatures around 30°C, while Paphos is expected to be slightly cooler at 28°C. The cooler mountainous region of Troodos will see a maximum temperature of 25°C.
As the day transitions into evening, conditions are expected to improve, with skies becoming mostly clear across the island. However, some low cloud and patches of mist may develop along coastal areas during the early hours of Sunday. Overnight temperatures are projected to drop to approximately 17°C in Nicosia, around 19°C in Limassol, and a cooler 15°C in Troodos.
Looking ahead, a similar weather pattern is anticipated for Sunday and Monday. Both days are expected to start with mainly clear skies, but cloud cover will likely develop in the afternoons, bringing a chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms, particularly in the Troodos and Nicosia regions.
Forecasters have indicated that temperatures will remain close to seasonal averages at the beginning of the week, with a slight increase expected on Tuesday. Conditions are predicted to become mostly clear across the island by then.
Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised to stay informed about the changing weather conditions and to take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to thunderstorms.
