He was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. The incident happened in Trachoni at around 2:30pm, when a Pajero-type vehicle was being towed using a heavy-duty strap. Under circumstances still being investigated, the towing mechanism detached, possibly due to the heavy strain placed on it, and was thrown backward into the truck’s windscreen, seriously injuring the driver inside. Members of Episkopi Police Station and Limassol Traffic Police were dispatched to the scene, along with an ambulance, which took the injured man to hospital. He was admitted with a serious head injury and is undergoing surgery due to the severity of his condition. The exact causes of the accident are being investigated by police and Limassol Traffic Police.
