**Two Escape After Fire Breaks Out at Limassol Hotel Shop**
In the early hours of Friday morning, a fire erupted at a shop located on the ground floor of a hotel in the Yermasoyia area of Limassol, prompting a swift response from the local fire service. The incident occurred around 3:53 AM, when emergency services received a call reporting the blaze.
Firefighters from the Ayios Nikolaos fire station quickly arrived at the scene with two fire engines. Their prompt action enabled them to bring the fire under control by 4:15 AM. Fortunately, two individuals were able to escape the shop safely. One person was assisted by firefighters to exit the premises, while the second individual had already managed to leave before emergency crews arrived.
The fire caused damage to the shop's contents and affected part of the interior wall paintwork. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with the fire service collaborating with relevant authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the outbreak.
In addition to this incident, the fire service reported a busy night, responding to a total of 40 calls for assistance between 6 AM on Thursday and 6 AM on Friday. Among these calls, 15 were related to fires, while 19 involved special assistance requests, and six were classified as false alarms.
