After patchy fog and low cloud clear on Thursday, the weather will become mostly clear. Winds will initially blow mainly south-east to south-west, weak at 3 Beaufort, gradually turning south-west to north-west, weak to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be generally smooth to slight. Temperatures will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 34 degrees on the southern, eastern and northern coasts, and around 31 degrees on the western coast and in the higher mountains. On Friday and over the weekend, the weather will be mostly clear, although increased local cloud is expected at times, which on Friday may bring isolated rain in the mountains. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly until Saturday, continuing to run slightly above average climatological values.
