UNESCO-listed Neolithic settlement showing early organized life on the island.
Choirokoitia is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the eastern Mediterranean. It gives visitors a look at Neolithic life in Cyprus thousands of years before the classical cities and castles.
The site includes remains of circular stone houses and reconstructions that help explain how people may have lived. It is very different from Roman ruins or medieval castles and adds depth to a Cyprus history route.
Choirokoitia is located between Larnaca and Limassol, making it easy to include on a road trip. Visit outside the hottest part of the day.
