Rock-cut underground tomb complex near Paphos, famous for monumental burial chambers.
Tombs of the Kings is one of the most important historical sites in Paphos. Despite the name, the tombs were not necessarily for kings, but for high-ranking officials and wealthy residents of ancient Paphos.
The tombs are carved directly into the rock and include large underground courtyards, columns and burial chambers. The scale makes the site feel dramatic and atmospheric, especially in the early morning or late afternoon light.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The site is open-air with uneven ground. It combines well with Paphos Archaeological Park, Paphos Harbour and nearby restaurants.
