Medieval castle linked with the Knights Hospitaller and the history of Commandaria wine.
Kolossi Castle is a compact but important medieval site near Limassol. It is strongly connected with the Crusader period, the Knights Hospitaller and the production of Commandaria, one of the historic wines of Cyprus.
The main tower is the centrepiece. Visitors can explore the stone structure, climb inside and look over the surrounding countryside. The site is smaller than Kourion but easy to combine with other nearby attractions.
Kolossi Castle is a good short stop on a Limassol day trip. Combine it with Kourion, wineries or nearby coastal restaurants.
