The operation formed part of action to tackle drug trafficking and followed information received from YDAP about drug distribution, naming a 20-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man as suspects. Shortly after 5pm yesterday, police stopped the car the 20-year-old was driving in an area of Limassol district. A search of the vehicle turned up a quantity of cannabis with a gross weight of 98 grams, a quantity of cannabis resin weighing 10 grams, and 825 euros in cash. Officers also recovered a mobile phone, a metal grinder with cannabis traces, and a precision scale, all of which were taken for examination. During the operation, police also stopped for inspection a car driven by a 23-year-old man who had met the 20-year-old earlier that day. In his car, officers discovered and confiscated 940 euros in cash. Searches then continued at the homes of the 20-year-old and the 23-year-old. At the 20-year-old’s home, where a 38-year-old woman also resides, officers recovered an air pistol and 1,000 euros in cash. At the 23-year-old’s home, where the 32-year-old also resides, a total of 343 grams of cannabis and 204 grams of cannabis resin were found, along with a precision scale bearing cannabis traces. Police arrested the 20-year-old, the 23-year-old and the 32-year-old in connection with an investigation into drug possession with intent to supply another person, and laundering the proceeds of illegal activity. They also arrested the 38-year-old in connection with an investigation into possession of an air pistol. YKAN’s Limassol District Branch is continuing its examinations in cooperation with Polemidia Police Station.
