**Christina Drakos Showcases "SOME BODY" Exhibition in Limassol**
As September unfolds, the art scene in Cyprus is revitalized following a brief hiatus in August. One of the highlights of this month's exhibitions is Christina Drakos's solo showcase titled "SOME BODY," which opens on September 5 at the Lumière Contemporary Art Gallery in Limassol. This exhibition will run until November 5 and features a collection of expressive figurative paintings created in Drakos's studio in Paris.
The "SOME BODY" exhibition is a culmination of Drakos's exploration of the human figure, emphasizing the intricate relationship between observation, anatomy, movement, and artistic expression. In her work, Drakos draws inspiration from live models, which she describes as essential to her artistic process. "Working from a live model is, above all, an exercise in seeing," she explains. Each model presents unique characteristics—varying in age, gender, and body type—offering the artist a diverse range of forms and energies to capture.
Drakos elaborates on her approach, stating that while the practice begins with understanding anatomy and form, it evolves into a deeper exploration of perception.
