**Here Comes the 1st Technopolis 20 Jazz Festival**
The inaugural Technopolis 20 Jazz Festival is set to take place on October 2 and 3, 2023, at Ibrahim’s Khan in Paphos, Cyprus. This two-day event is a collaborative effort between the Technopolis 20 cultural centre, the Petridio Foundation, and the Paphos Municipality, aimed at celebrating the vibrant world of jazz music.
The festival promises to showcase a diverse lineup of both local and international artists, who will present a variety of jazz styles that highlight improvisation, creativity, and collaboration. Attendees can look forward to a rich programme featuring renowned jazz classics, timeless standards, contemporary compositions, and innovative musical interpretations.
The festival will kick off on the first evening with a performance by the Yerolatsitis/Toumazou/Kutrafali/Tsangaris Quartet. This quartet features prominent musicians including Christos Yerolatsitis on keys, Odysseas Toumazou on guitar, Cahit Kutrafali on bass, and Nikolas Tsangaris on drums. They will guide the audience through a captivating repertoire that showcases their musical talents.
Following this opening act, the local ensemble Fuzz Bus will take the stage. This group, consisting of Lefteris Moumtzis, Ermis Michail, Andreas Panteli, and Omiros Miltiadous, is known for its dynamic performances and will add to the festival's vibrant atmosphere.
The first night will conclude with a performance by Elly Loves Jazz, an ensemble featuring Elly Paspala, David Lynch, Takis Farazis, Petros Varthakouris, Alexandros-Drakos Ktistakis, and Tommy Lynch. The second evening of the festival will begin with the Ioanna Troullidou Quartet, which includes Ioanna Troullidou on vocals, Marios Toumbas on piano, Eirineos Koulouras on double bass, and Ioannis Vafeas on drums. Their set will continue the celebration of jazz with a focus on vocal artistry and instrumental prowess.
Following the Ioanna Troullidou Quartet, the Reprise Quartet will perform, featuring Thomas Lumley on saxophone, Marios Takoushis on piano, Cahit Kutrafali on bass, and Stelios Xydas on drums. This ensemble is expected to deliver a compelling performance that showcases the depth of jazz music.
The festival will culminate with a performance by renowned Greek singer Nefeli Fasouli, who will be accompanied by Christos Yerolatsitis, Kyriakos Kestas, and Nikolas Tsangaris.
