The “police” said in a statement that the incident took place around 11:45 am, under circumstances still being investigated. The man stabbed the woman for a reason unknown so far, seriously injuring her. Immediately afterwards, the alleged perpetrator injured himself with the same knife in an apparent attempt to kill himself. Both were taken to a hospital in occupied Nicosia, where they remain hospitalised in serious condition. The “police” said investigations into the circumstances and motive behind the attack are ongoing.
