The council said placing poisoned bait is an illegal and condemnable act that endangers not only animals but public health and safety, and it condemned such actions unequivocally. It warned that if those responsible are identified, it will take all legal action available to it, in cooperation with the competent authorities. The council called on Giolou residents to immediately inform either the council itself or the police as soon as they notice suspicious behaviour or find poison placed in the community.
