Temperatures inland are forecast to reach around 38C on Monday before climbing above 40C from Tuesday. “We will remain above 40C until Thursday,” he said, adding that temperatures could reach 41C to 42C on Wednesday and Thursday. Christodoulou said the average climatological temperature for inland areas at this time of year is around 38C. “Tomorrow we will be close to the average climatological values, while from Tuesday until Thursday temperatures will certainly be above them,” he said. Meteorological Department figures show that rainfall recorded so far in July stands at 5.6 millimetres, or 215% of the month’s normal rainfall of 2.6 millimetres, based on the 1961-1990 average. Total rainfall from 1 October 2025 to date stands at 578.3 millimetres, corresponding to 117% of the normal level for the same period. The 1961-1990 average for the period is 495.6 millimetres.
