Cyprus is set to experience a hot Tuesday, with temperatures soaring to 37°C inland. According to the Meteorological Office, the day will start off mainly clear, but there is a possibility of isolated afternoon showers, particularly in the mountainous regions.
The weather forecast indicates that a seasonal low-pressure system is currently influencing the area. As the day progresses, clouds are expected to increase, leading to a chance of rain in localized areas, especially in the mountains.
Winds will begin the day light and variable, blowing at around 3 Beaufort. However, as the day unfolds, they are predicted to shift to a southwesterly to northwesterly direction, increasing to 3 to 4 Beaufort. Along the southern coast, winds may temporarily strengthen, reaching up to 5 Beaufort.
In terms of temperatures, the forecast breaks down as follows: inland areas will see highs of 37°C, while the western coast will experience milder conditions at around 32°C. Other coastal regions are expected to reach 35°C, and temperatures in the higher mountains will be cooler at approximately 27°C.
As night falls, conditions will remain predominantly clear, with temperatures expected to drop to around 24°C both inland and along the coast. In the mountainous areas, temperatures will be cooler, falling to about 16°C.
Looking ahead, Wednesday is expected to start mostly clear, with a similar pattern of cloud development in the afternoon. The weather conditions for Thursday and Friday will mirror those of Wednesday, with the potential for isolated showers during the afternoons, particularly in mountainous areas.
Temperatures are anticipated to rise slightly on Wednesday and Thursday, surpassing the seasonal averages, before experiencing a slight decline on Friday.
