**Two Women Arrested in Larnaca Following Brothel Discovery Linked to Theft Report**
Larnaca, Cyprus – In a late-night operation, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Larnaca arrested two women, aged 25 and 26, on suspicion of operating a brothel out of a flat in the city. The arrests occurred in the early hours of August 27, 2026, following a report of a disturbance outside the premises.
The incident began when police were alerted to a situation involving a 23-year-old man who was found shouting outside the flat at approximately 2 a.m. Upon investigation, the man informed officers that he had paid for a sexual encounter with one of the women inside the flat. He claimed that after leaving, he discovered that €6,700 had been stolen from him.
Responding to the theft claim, Larnaca CID conducted a search of the flat. During the search, officers located the missing cash hidden behind a bedside table. This discovery led to the immediate arrest of both women, who had reportedly been residing in the flat since July.
The two women now face multiple charges, including theft, handling stolen goods, conspiracy to commit a felony, and a misdemeanour related to operating a brothel. Following their arrest, they were brought before the Larnaca District Court to secure a remand order.
