**Fires Reported in Limassol and Nicosia**
The Cyprus fire service has been active in responding to multiple incidents over the past few days, including fires in the Limassol and Nicosia districts. Authorities confirmed that two significant fires occurred, one in Episkopi, Limassol, and another at a property in Kampos, Nicosia.
The first incident took place early on Friday morning, around 2:06 AM, in the car park of a shop in Episkopi. Local residents were quick to act, managing to contain the flames before the fire service arrived on the scene. Firefighters from Monovolikos and Ayios Ioannis responded with three fire engines and successfully brought the situation under control by 2:26 AM. Although the flames were extinguished before the fire service's arrival, a container located on the site sustained damage. The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
In a separate incident, another fire broke out on Thursday at an electrical panel in Kampos, Nicosia district. The fire service responded with vehicles from the Evrychou fire station, along with a fire engine from Kykkos Monastery and two vehicles from the forestry department. The fire caused damage to the electrical panel and affected both the interior and exterior masonry of the building. Following an investigation, it was determined that an electrical fault was the cause of this fire.
In the 24-hour period between 6 AM on Thursday and 6 AM on Friday, the fire service received a total of 35 calls. These included 10 incidents classified as fires, 21 categorized as special services, and four false alarms.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and investigate the causes of the fires to prevent future occurrences.
